TITLE: Naval Training Center, Great Lakes 1936

DESCRIPTION: Ahaa, there's the hammocks I was telling you about. I don't remember of them having an inspecion just for that. These two captains in front were the people you never had eye contact with. I was scart to death of high rank officers. At night, we were suppose to string them up tight between two stays. Inside was a two inch cotton mattress. It was hell trying to get into them. They squeezed my shoulders in and it was miserable trying to sleep. One of the guys tipped us off that you could take the scabbard from the bayonet and use it as a spreader above the head. Presto!!
